Her commitment to the safety of patients, caregivers and visitors, saw her nominated for the Caregiver Living Values Award by Gilly Smith, Manager Quality and Risk in recognition of her contribution to excellence in our hospital.

“Kirsty is always looking for ways to make sure our caregivers are aware of the importance of looking out for any safety hazards in the workplace, as well as anything that may cause risk to our patients and visitors,” says Gilly.

“She works incredibly hard and while much of what she does is behind the scenes, she plays an integral part of the day-to-day running of our hospital.

“Just last year, Kirsty juggled accreditation, numerous site visits regarding Occupational Health and Safety measures at our site, and also implemented a range of OHS projects across the hospital.

“I greatly value the way she approaches her work, and her caring nature. She regularly checks into my office to see if there are ways we can work together to make sure Quality and Risk and OHS are working together to ensure a safe working environment in our hospital.

“She truly reflects the values that underpin the way we deliver care and compassion, and I am happy to see her recognised for her excellent work.”

The Caregiver Living Values Awards are held each month. Anyone can nominate a caregiver, and we are keen to hear if you think someone deserves recognition for their contribution of our values of excellence, hospitality, compassion, respect and justice.
