Each year, caregivers at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital nominate a doctor they believe has made a significant impact on the hospital. The Hospital Management Committee then makes the final decision based on these submissions.

At this year’s medical practitioner’s soiree held at the Royal Perth Yacht Club, St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital CEO Vanessa Unwin proudly announced Dr Selva Ketharanathan as the recipient of this prestigious award.

With more than 20 years of experience, Dr Ketharanathan is a highly respected and trusted specialist in infectious diseases. She joined St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital in 2014, where she earned the admiration of her colleagues and caregivers alike. Dr Ketharanathan is also committed to educating medical students, residents and healthcare professionals.

“Selva generously supports the hospital’s antimicrobial stewardship program. She is a member of both the antimicrobial stewardship committee and the infection prevention and control committees.  Her advice and guidance is essential to our accreditation under the National Safety and Quality Health Care Standards”, said CEO Vanessa Unwin.

“Selva epitomises the Values of St John of God Health Care in everything she does.
