Rachel said she decided to raise money and donate her hair so it could be made into a wig for those with cancer after a friend had surgery for a brain tumour.

“Thankfully the tumour was benign and when I asked my friend what I could do, she said it would be great if I could help raise awareness or funds for cancer,” she said.

“I had a goal of raising $3,000 and I'm delighted to have raised more than $5,700 to date.”

World’s Greatest Shave is undertaken by the Leukaemia Foundation to raise funds to assist Australians with blood cancer.

Blood cancer in the third most common cause of cancer death in Australia claiming more lives than breast cancer or melanoma.
