Children's book to help families receiving palliative care
Berwick author Norliah Syer's debut children's book helping kids and families understand grief and loss is now available St John of God Berwick Hospital.

The picture book That’s Where I Find You inspires readers to remember that no matter how much they might miss someone, they have the ability to keep treasured moments in their hearts and minds.
“My mum passed away from cancer when I was 13,” Norliah said.
“She was only 48 years old. I coped with my grief through writing poetry and songs and writing a book seemed like a natural progression.
"I hope my book will comfort children- maybe even some adults- who are going through difficult circumstances like a separation, moving far away from someone or a loved one passing on.”
St John of God Berwick Hospital is using the book to support families through palliative care when children are involved.
“Picture books can be a powerful tool to help explain grief and loss to children,” St John of God Berwick Hospital Director of Mission Rhonda O’Connor said.
"This story is particularly beautiful as it encourages children to keep their loved one with them, in their heart, always.”
The book was launched at the hospital on 29 January 2019.
