We asked St John of God Comprehensive Cancer Centre registered nurse Monique what she enjoys about supporting our patients and working in the centre.
Monique, who has worked at St John of God Bunbury Hospital for four years, says the best part of her job is knowing that she is providing hope and relief to patients during their cancer treatment as well as vital assistance and support during this time.
“I enjoy working with the patients and strive to deliver the most comprehensive care to patients in the most vulnerable time during their cancer journey,” Monique said.
Monique explains that the Comprehensive Cancer Centre provides holistic care to cancer patients with support and education, as well as the provision and administration of chemotherapy and immunotherapy to patients.
“Working in cancer care can be emotionally challenging but delivering empathetic care can also be extremely rewarding,” she said.
“Supporting and caring for these patients also means we play a vital role in their emotional wellbeing and recovery.”
Thank you Monique for the work that you do and for being part of our incredible caregiver team at St John of God Bunbury Hospital.
