At St John of God Warrnambool Hospital, we work in partnership with our accredited medical practitioners and welcome enquiries from specialist doctors wishing to obtain accreditation to treat patients at our hospital.
Our doctors work in collaboration with us in multiple areas including:
- clinical service provision
- teaching and education of medical students, junior doctors and specialists in training
- Medical Advisory and Credentialing Committee membership
- clinical governance activities with numerous quality and peer review activities
- GP education programs
- involvement in clinical research, including clinical trials.
Accreditation
To admit patients to our hospital, all medical practitioners must be accredited to practice.

Referrals and admissions

Surgical admissions require completion of a surgical booking pack/consent form which can be supplied to you. Contact our bookings office for instruction on the process for surgical admissions.

By-laws and code of conduct
All accredited medical practitioners and service providers are expected to adhere to our code of conduct and practitioner by-laws. These documents govern the relationship between St John of God Health Care and its accredited practitioners, and set expectations for professional conduct, patient safety and the delivery of quality care at our hospitals and services. Practitioners will receive both documents following successful credentialing.
Consulting suites
Our hospital has a number of dedicated consulting suites for visiting medical practitioners.
Other consulting physicians and surgeons have consulting rooms onsite across specialties such as gynaecology and obstetrics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, general surgery, psychiatry, gastroenterology and cardiology.
