Consumer engagement at Murdoch

At St John of God Murdoch Hospital, we value the insights and experiences of our patients, families, carers and visitors. By listening to our community, we can make better decisions and continue to improve the care and services we provide.

Consumers contribute in an advisory capacity across a range of clinical and non-clinical committees, as well as project and redevelopment groups. These opportunities help us strengthen patient care, service delivery and the overall hospital experience.

There are several ways for you to share your feedback and get involved.

Murdoch Consumer Advisory Group

The Murdoch Consumer Advisory Group (MCAG) includes patients, former patients and visitors and family.

This committee helps us improve the patient and visitor experience by providing feedback on areas such as:

  • hospital planning, including quality improvement, safety and strategic planning
  • signage, parking and ease of navigation around the hospital
  • brochures and other information, to help ensure they are clear and easy to understand
  • patient experiences, including complaints, care and waiting times

The group meets every two months.

To join MCAG, you need to have had direct experience with the hospital as a patient, carer, family member or loved one.

Apply for membership

We welcome applications from people who would like to join one or more of our committees as a consumer representative.

Appointments are usually for 12 to 24 months, depending on the committee.

If you are shortlisted, we will contact you to arrange an interview. Shortlisted applicants will also need to complete some forms and checks, including:
