St John of God Burwood Hospital provides a comfortable, relaxed and pleasant environment for all clients.
Our patient and guest facilities
We are committed to the health and wellbeing of our clients and visitors and making sure they have what they need in the time they spend with us.
Gym and exercise program
During your stay with us, you are welcome to use our fully equipped indoor and outdoor gyms during scheduled times, following approval from your treating doctor. We also offer a physical health program led by our exercise physiologists which has been designed to help people manage their emotional wellbeing.
Dining room
Clients are encouraged to have their meals in our central dining room. Family and friends are welcome; an EFTPOS machine is available for payment in the dining room (no cash payments).
Meal times:
Breakfast: 7:30 am to 9 am weekdays (8 am to 9 am on weekends)
Lunch: 12 pm to 1 pm
Dinner: 5 pm to 6 pm
Our rotating menu, developed by our head chef in consultation with registered dietitians, provides choice and variety for many different needs.
Individual food requirements can be accommodated in consultation with our catering department.
You can also find vending machines located throughout the hospital.
Granada Getaway Cafe
Set in a leafy cafe style environment with indoor and outdoor seating, the Granada Getaway Cafe serves selection of hot and cold drinks, delicious cakes, sandwiches and light meals.
Opening hours:
8:30 am to 1:30 pm on weekdays.
Please note that no cash payments are being received, only cards are accepted.
Pharmacy
Our pharmacy is located opposite the Granada Getaway Café.
Pharmacy opening times are Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm.
Laundry
We have laundry facilities for personal washing, drying and ironing. Washing detergent is provided at reception.
Chapel
Our Chapel is located near reception and is open for quiet reflection.
Communion or Mass (once per month) is offered on Friday mornings at 11:30 am.
Wi-Fi
Staying in touch with loved ones isn’t limited to visiting hours with our hospital Wi-Fi. Both patients and visitors can enjoy free internet access during their stay.

Photocopying and fax services
Photocopying, emailing, printing and fax services are available at reception.
Games area
The games area is opened every day and has a table tennis table, air hockey table and futsal table. The area is accessible from the hours of 8 am to 10 pm.
