The South West Cancer Accommodation Centre provides a home away from home for those travelling to Bunbury for cancer treatment.
It offers private rooms in a secure facility with access to all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay, including a communal kitchen, dining room, laundry, multiple living spaces and an outdoor area with gardens.
All rooms include:
- air conditioning
- private bathroom
- free WiFi
- kitchenette (including mini fridge)
- telephone (billed)
- television.
Accessing our accommodation
This Bunbury accommodation for cancer patients may be available if patients are:
- eligible for the Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATS)
- experiencing hardship (determined by a social worker assessment)
- covered under the Department of Veterans’ Affairs gold or white card.
To arrange a booking at the centre, please follow these steps:
- Ask your general practitioner or health professional to send a patient referral to PATS or a social worker (for those experiencing hardship) for assessment.
- Book your treatment.
- Contact us on the email address or phone number below to make your booking.
- If approved, send your reservation receipt (provided by St John of God Bunbury Hospital) to PATS and request them to send a purchase order number to our hospital.
Rates
In most cases the cost of accommodation is covered through the Patient Assisted Travel Scheme. If this is not the case, a gap payment will be incurred.
Cost per night
- Patient staying on their own - $110
- Patient staying with a support person - $125
- Support person staying on their own whilst patient is in hospital - $110
