New Specialist Urology services and equipment at St John of God Warrnambool Hospital

Thanks to some generous community donations in 2021, St John of God Warrnambool Hospital was able to purchase cutting edge Urology equipment.

17 Jun 2022

The equipment enables our Specialist Urologist, Mr. Adee Davidson, to undertake a new range of services related to prostate cancer diagnostics and radiotherapy treatments. This equipment will result in better detection and more precise treatment outcomes for patients in the region.

“TP Biopsy is a crucial step in diagnosing men with prostate cancer. Having access to this equipment locally prevents men from needing to travel for diagnosis and therefore, can reduce the delay between diagnosis and treatment. This truly is a big win for the region.”

These procedures can be done as a day procedure operation and enable patients to proceed promptly to radiation services if required.

CEO, Alex Demidov, says the additional services are a much needed addition for the community. “We are now able to provide Gold Standard Urological surgery, hand in hand with the best patient care in our local community.“

This equipment purchase has been made possible by some very generous donors:
Midfield Meats International
Peters project foundation
The Thomas OToole Foundation
The AL Lane Foundation
The Caledonian Society

We greatly appreciate the very generous donations to make this possible.

Patients can access these services by using their health insurance or self-fund the procedure. When you are referred to Mr. Davidson, please discuss your options with the rooms.
