Moort Boodjari Mia – Family Pregnancy House

Cultural acknowledgement

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land – the Whadjuk Noongar people – and pay deep respect to Elders past and present. We honour the strength, spirit and wisdom of Aboriginal women, families and communities.

Welcome: Walking together through pregnancy

Our service supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mums-to-be, and non-Aboriginal women having Aboriginal babies.

We offer gentle, respectful care throughout your pregnancy, birth and beyond. Our goal is to walk alongside you, your family and community – with listening ears, open hearts, and strong hands.

About our service

Care that feels right – your way, your journey

We know that pregnancy is more than just physical care – it's a journey of spirit, body, family and culture. Our team includes Aboriginal liaison officers and Aboriginal midwives who understand your story and will support you in ways that feel safe and right for you.

  • We listen to what matters to you.
  • We welcome your family and Elders to be part of your care.
  • We blend medical knowledge with cultural wisdom.
  • We offer continuity of care, so you see the same faces.

Who can use this service

Moort Boodjari Mia is for:

  • Aboriginal women and Torres Strait Islander women who are pregnant.
  • Non-Aboriginal women who are pregnant with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander baby.

We’re here for you – whether this is your first baby or you’ve done this before.

How we support you and your baby

  • Culturally safe care throughout your pregnancy and postnatal period.
  • Midwives and Aboriginal health workers who respect your story.
  • Support with hospital care, birthing choices and baby’s health.
  • Help with referral letters, transport, emotional wellbeing and more.
  • Support after baby arrives – at home or in the clinic.

Our approach - Respect. Culture. Family.

We work with strength-based, community-led values. We know that families, aunties, uncles, and Elders play a big role in raising children.

You're not alone – we’re here to walk with you in a way that honours your culture, your choices and your mob.
