Which ED is right for you?
In a medical emergency, we want you or your loved one to receive the most appropriate clinical care, as quickly as possible.
For some emergencies and conditions, public hospital emergency departments are best placed to provide the care you need – including acute mental health, acute stroke, major trauma (injury) or burns, and bleeding from the bowel or stomach.
Our Emergency Department
We provide adult and paediatric emergency services to patients with short waiting times and care provided by experienced nurses, doctors and specialists using the latest technology.
Our Emergency Department is a private facility and fees do apply.
Getting to emergency
To get to our Emergency Department, please follow Mair Street west and turn right to the ED main entrance.
Temporary parking is available at the front of the Emergency Department entrance. There is additional onsite parking available at the hospital main entrance, or on-street parking on Mair Street.

What to expect at emergency
When you arrive at our Emergency Department, we will see you as soon as possible based on how urgent your condition is. This means patients in more serious condition may be treated first, so there can sometimes be a wait. We understand this can be stressful, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
Our emergency team will assess your condition and arrange any tests or treatment you need.
After reviewing your results, we will either admit you for further care* or discharge you home.
*If you need admission to our hospital, you must have private health insurance with hospital cover. If you do not have hospital cover, we will arrange transfer to the most appropriate public hospital.
To support the wellbeing of everyone in our care we request that patients have only one visitor or support person accompanying them in the ED if possible.
Please follow our infection prevention guidelines when visiting patients.
