Matt Thyer is a West Australian trained Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. Matt values the rich human aspect of his profession and this naturally translates into high quality service and care for his patients.

Matt manages low through to high-risk pregnancies, routinely conducts a thorough ultrasound at each consultation and is committed to be available and on call for his private patients.

Specialist in-house lactation services are available to patients to help prevent and address complex and difficult feeding problems following birth.

Matt has acquired expertise in complex laparoscopic keyhole surgery to perform hysterectomies, myomectomies for fibroids and other difficult to treat conditions such as endometriosis. He also has developed expertise in pelvic floor reconstruction for prolapse, urinary incontinence and sexual dysfunction. Matt accelerated his expertise operating alongside Dr Bruce Thyer, an experienced, and “nearly retired’, Gynaecologist. They have developed, modified and improved several surgical procedures together.

Matt charges no-gap for in-hospital obstetric services and provides private obstetric and gynaecological services at both St John of God Mount Lawley and Subiaco Hospitals.

Matt obtained a PhD by research and an MBBS from The University of Western of Australia. He undertook his specialty fellowship training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FRANZCOG) principally at the old Swan District Hospital, King Edward Memorial Hospital, Joondalup Hospital, Osborne Park Hospital and Bunbury Regional Hospital.
