Matt Thyer is a west australian trained obstetrician and gynaecologist who has a warm, personable yet professional approach to his patients.
Matt principally trained at King Edward Memorial and Joondalup Hospitals, and various other units throughout the state.
He is a no-gap in-hospital provider for the major private health insurance schemes, offers affordable consultation fees, and provides private obstetric services at both St John of God Mount Lawley and Subiaco Hospitals.
He works together with his father, Dr Bruce Thyer, an established and well-respected clinician in the field. Growing up with his father in the profession instilled a respect for the commitment, responsibility and sacrifices that make a genuine difference to patients, especially during pregnancy and childbirth. His consulting rooms are based at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital, where he offers expertise in: pregnancy care, from fertility concerns and pre-pregnancy planning, though to general pregnancy, delivery and post-delivery care. Matt is supportive of women that wish to attempt normal birth after caesarean (VBAC).
Matt also offers care to women experiencing perinatal anxiety and depression, women’s health care addressing concerns such as menstrual problems, premenstrual tension and associated mood changes, polycystic ovarian syndrome, cervical screening abnormalities, sexual dysfunction, pelvic pains, abnormal vaginal bleeding, menopausal symptoms, vaginal prolapse, incontinence and other problems.
As a generalist he can offer comprehensive care to women of all ages across the breadth of women’s health concerns. Matt is a conservative clinician who will take his time to listen and to help you.
