Dr Timothy Unsworth-Smith is a specialist foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeon who is passionate about providing exceptional patient care.


Dr Unsworth-Smith completed his orthopaedic specialist training in Perth after graduating from the University of Western Australia with Honours and completed training in foot and ankle surgery in Queensland and New South Wales.


Following this, he completed three Foot and Ankle Fellowships with leading specialists Dr Michael Lutz and Dr Ben Forster in Brisbane, Dr Simon Platt at Gold Coast University and Dr Andrew Wines in Sydney. On top of his training in foot, ankle and trauma surgery, Dr Unsworth-Smith also has a key interest in knee arthroplasty (total knee replacement surgery). With five years of training in knee replacement surgery, Dr Unsworth-Smith finds it rewarding to give patients back their quality of life post-surgery.


In addition to his clinical experience, Dr Unsworth-Smith has completed several research projects which he has presented at multiple national and international conferences and are published internationally. Timothy is dedicated to continual learning and research with the aim to improve his patients care and medical experience.


Prior to medicine, Dr Unsworth-Smith graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a degree in Human Movements and Business Marketing, and worked as an exercise physiologist.


Dr Unsworth-Smith operates privately at St John of God Subiaco Hospital and St John of God Midland Private Hospital and is a known gap provider for all private health funds.


He also welcomes workers compensation, MVA, DVA and Australian Defence Force patients.
