Dr Suresh Ponnusamy completed his medical studies at Stanley Medical College and graduated from the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University in Chennai, India. He undertook postgraduate training in the United Kingdom and Western Australia between 2005 and 2012.
He completed his first two years of advanced gastroenterology training in Queensland, followed by a third year of advanced training with a focus on inflammatory bowel disease at Canberra Hospital. He received the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) diploma in 2011 (UK) and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2015.
Dr Suresh Ponnusamy has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease, hepatology, and endoscopic procedures. He commenced practice at St John of God Midland Hospital in 2016.
