Dr Mekel specialises in clinical electrophysiology providing EP studies (electrophysiological studies), catheter ablation procedures, pacemaker and defibrillator implants, pacemaker and defibrillator generator replacements and diagnostic angiography within St John of God Bendigo Hospital’s Day Procedure Unit each Thursday.
Dr Mekel consults two days a week in his private rooms (Mondays and Wednesdays) and runs a pacemaker clinic each Friday.
Dr Mekel completed his medical and specialist training in Johannesburg, South Africa and Rotterdam, the Netherlands and he and his family have called Bendigo home for 18 years.
