Ryan, who was born and raised in Perth, studied medicine at the University of Western Australia and undertook his orthopaedic training in Victoria and Western Australia completing his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2013. Subsequently, Ryan undertook two additional years of training in paediatrics and arthroscopic surgery.


Ryan’s interest in paediatrics led him to complete the internationally recognised paediatric fellowship at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. He then worked with Mr Justin Roe at the North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre focusing on arthroscopic and reconstructive knee surgery.


Ryan then spent a year in Vancouver, Canada, where he completed further training in arthroscopic surgical techniques through the University of British Columbia.


His clinical interests include:


• General paediatric orthopaedic surgery.


• Arthroscopic reconstructive and arthroplasty surgery of the shoulder.


• Arthroscopic reconstructive and arthroplasty surgery of the knee.


• Sports-related injuries in the adolescent athlete.
