Dr David Lim is a specialist general surgeon with subspecialty training in breast cancer treatment and is also a Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) accredited endoscopist (for gastroscopies and colonoscopies).
Born and raised in Malaysia, he completed his medical degree at Monash University and commenced work in Perth where he completed advanced general surgical training and gained fellowship in the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Subsequently, he was accepted into and completed the prestigious post fellowship training program by Breast Surgery Australia and New Zealand (BreastSurgANZ) which included extensive training in oncoplastic breast surgery as well as up to date management of breast cancer (which is a rapidly evolving field).
He believes in personalised holistic breast cancer treatment with a multidisciplinary approach while prioritising patient education and decision making. He is also passionate about research and education with previous appointments in post graduate medical education and convenor of the WA surgical trainees education program.
He is a member of Breast Surg ANZ, Australasian Society for Breast Disease, General Surgeons Australia, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Gastroenterological Society of Australia.
