I'm Dr David Kerr, a Perth-based, fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee conditions. Before surgery, I trained as a physiotherapist — and that background shapes everything about how I treat patients. I understand how much movement matters, how frustrating pain and limitation can be, and how important it is to feel genuinely heard.

I specialise in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery, sports injuries, and fracture care, always with the same goal: getting you back to the life you want to live, as comfortably and quickly as possible.

My path to orthopaedic surgery began with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Curtin University, followed by a medical degree from the University of Notre Dame in Sydney and extensive orthopaedic training in New South Wales, where I was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).

My advanced fellowship training includes:

  • Anterior approach hip replacement
  • Robotic-assisted knee surgery
  • ACL reconstruction using a range of graft options
  • Joint-preserving procedures for knee arthritis
