Professor Vlasios (Bill) Brakoulias is regarded as an international expert in the assessment and treatment of OCD, anxiety and related disorders having completed a PhD studying symptom sub-types of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and focusing much of his research on clinical aspects of such disorders. He has published numerous scientific articles and presented his findings at international conferences.
Prof Brakoulias is committed to improving standards of practice. He enjoys teaching medical students and trainees and is currently the Professor of Psychiatry at Westmead Hospital with The University of Sydney.
Prof Brakoulias has completed advanced training in the psychotherapies and has additional skills and experience in cognitive behavioural therapy, conversational model psychodynamic therapy, group and family therapy.
Prof Brakoulias has worked with anxiety disorders clinics over many years and has established innovative services for OCD. He has been a Visiting Medical Officer for St John of God Richmond Hospital since 2015.
