St John of God Health Care marks the final week of St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital

St John of God Health Care is marking the final days of St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital, ahead of the hospital's transition to the Western Australian Government on 1 September 2026.

St John of God Health Care Group Chief Executive Officer Bryan Pyne said it was a fitting opportunity to recognise the hospital's contribution to the community and the people who had provided care.

"We are incredibly proud of the care provided at St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital and deeply grateful to the caregivers, doctors, volunteers and others who have contributed to the hospital over many years," Mr Pyne said.

"Their compassion, professionalism and commitment have made a lasting difference to patients and families. As we mark this final week of St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital under St John of God Health Care’s stewardship, we thank the many people who have been part of the hospital's journey and whose dedication has made a difference in the lives of countless patients and families," he said.

"We are pleased the hospital will continue to play an important role in meeting the health care needs of the community as a public hospital.”

Mr Pyne said St John of God Health Care would continue to work closely with East Metropolitan Health Service to support a smooth transition for patients.

“As we approach the handover our focus remains on providing patients with safe, high-quality and compassionate care, while ensuring a smooth and seamless transition for patients and the community,” he said.

St John of God Health Care will operate St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital until midnight on 31 August 2026. The hospital will transition to the Western Australian Government, under the management of EMHS at 12.01am on 1 September 2026 and will be known as Mount Lawley Hospital.
