Dr Veera Makkada is a Physician and Geriatrician. Graduating in Chennai, India, Veera worked in the public service for more than 12 years in a busy tertiary, teaching public hospital in Chennai. Completing his post-graduate degree in internal medicine, Veera passed FMGEMS and New Zealand Registration Examinations before obtaining fellowship with the Royal Australian College of Physicians.

He has a wealth of experience and practical training and can confidently diagnose and manage most of the clinical conditions seen in geriatric and general medicine. A traditionalist in his practice of medicine, he devotes a lot of time to listen to patients and families and still able to blend the art and the science of medicine to achieve the best results for his patients.

A confident and compassionate physician, he has specialised and practiced geriatric medicine for over fifteen years. Veera attends national and international forums to ensure continual improvement. Veera has a passion for teaching medicine and have taught and trained scores of Physicians both in Australasia and in India. Although busy, Veera would still welcome new patients to his practice and is happy to consult on new referrals from General Practitioners.
