Andrew Kiberu, is a specialist oncologist and geriatrician. He did all of his specialist training in Australia and has worked and trained in Africa and Europe too.

Andrew holds a clinical appointment as a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Fiona Stanley hospital and also offers private specialist oncology services at St John of God Bunbury Hospital.

For more than a decade, Andrew has been a consultant in medical oncology, geriatric medicine and rehabilitation but has now restricted himself to adult medical and geriatric medical oncology. Andrew has worked as a Consultant Geriatrician Royal Perth Hospital and Swan District Hospital. He worked in several specialised areas of geriatric medicine including orthogeriatrics, stroke rehabilitation, falls, incontinence, memory, acute and subacute geriatric medicine. This background in geriatric medicine equips him to manage complex and, in particular, older patients with cancer and multiple medical, geriatric and psychosocial issues.

As Consultant Medical Oncologist, Andrew has treated cancer patients at all the major teaching hospitals in Perth including Sir Charles Gairdner, Royal Perth hospital and has been a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Fiona Stanley Hospital since it opened in 2014.

Tumour oncology areas he has consulted in at these hospitals include breast, genitourinary, thoracic, melanoma and skin, gastrointestinal and neuroendocrine oncology.

Andrew is currently a Consultant to the Gastrointestinal (GI) and Neuroendocrine Tumour group at Fiona Stanley Hospital where he treats upper GI cancers including oesophageal, gastric, pancreas, bile duct, small bowel cancers and lower GI or colorectal cancers, including large bowel, rectal and anal cancers and the rare neuroendocrine tumours for which he is one of few NET specialists in Western Australia.

Andrew has extensive consultant experience managing cancer in different settings in tertiary centres (Sir Charles Gairdner, Royal Perth Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital).

He also has more than a decade of experience as a Consultant Medical Oncologist to rural and remote country public hospitals of Geraldton Regional Hospital and Kalgoorlie Hospital as an accredited Consultant to the Western Australia Country Health Service (WACHS), and private country hospitals - St John of God Geraldton and Bunbury Hospitals.

Andrew had clinical research training at the University of Western Australia and is a principle and sub-investigator on several international clinical trials in breast, colorectal, pancreatic, hepatobiliary, melanoma, geriatric oncology, neuroendocrine and lung cancers. He is involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students at Fiona Stanley Hospital and St John of God Bunbury Hospital.

Andrew is involved in several multidisciplinary oncology teams in Perth and Bunbury in colorectal, upper gastrointestinal, neuroendocrine, breast, lung and gynaecological oncology.

Andrew is happy to see south west patients (insured and uninsured) at St John of God Bunbury Hospital.
