Mr Chandika Wewelwala

Mr Chandika Wewelwala is a consultant General surgeon working at Monash Health who provides the full range of Breast surgical services in the South Eastern Melbourne region.

He completed his surgical training at Monash in 2019 and has undergone further 2 years of post fellowship training in Breast surgery under BreastSurgANZ, the peak governing body overseeing Breast surgeons in Australia and New Zealand.

In his first post fellowship year of training he worked at Auckland city hospital New Zealand where he gained valuable expertise in a multitude of breast procedures including implant based breast reconstruction when necessary for the treatment of breast cancer.

He returned to Monash health breast surgery unit in 2021 to complete his fellowship training and was appointed as a consultant breast and general surgeon. He also has public appointments in Warragul hospital and Wonthaggi Hospital.
