Dr Xia Ni Wu is a highly skilled and compassionate ophthalmologist with extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of ocular inflammatory disorders (uveitis), retinal diseases such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease, as well as cataract and pterygium surgery.


She graduated with honours from the University of Western Australia and completed her specialist ophthalmology training in Melbourne and Perth.


Following her specialist training, Dr Wu was a Lions Outback Vision Fred Hollows Foundation Fellow where she provided essential clinical and surgical ophthalmic care to rural and remote communities in Western Australia. Her commitment to advancing eye care took her to the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London where she completed advanced subspecialty training.


Dr Wu is published extensively in peer reviewed journals and has written a number of book chapters on ocular inflammation. She has conducted large international multicentre research trials, and regularly presents at national and international conferences. Dr Wu is regularly invited to review articles for leading research journals.


In addition to her clinical work, Dr Wu is passionate about teaching and regularly leads educational seminars for medical professionals, optometrists, trainees and medical students.
