Dr Sze Ling Wong is an experienced General Surgeon specialising in endocrine surgery with specific interests in all aspects of thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal procedures. Having completed her training in General Surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in 2012, Dr Wong then spent 2 years of post-fellowship training in Endocrine Surgery at The Alfred in Melbourne and Royal Perth Hospital in Perth.
She is a high-volume endocrine and general surgeon. She is also sought after for minimally invasive procedures to treat cancers, including ‘Scarless’ Transoral Thyroidectomy. As a pioneer of Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy Vestibular Approach surgery in Australia, she has set the benchmark in scarless neck thyroid surgery. Dr Wong focuses on delivering exceptional clinical care and has proven clinical outcomes. She delivers a very high voice preservation rate in both thyroid and parathyroid surgeries (permanent recurrent laryngeal nerve injury rate of 0.1%) and over 98% cure rates in parathyroid surgeries.
Dr Wong participates in the Endocrine and Thyroid Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meeting that includes endocrinologists, radiologists, pathologists, nuclear medicine specialists, oncologists and specialist nurses. All patients with endocrine malignancies are discussed at a monthly MDT meeting.
Dr Wong offers a comprehensive endocrine surgery service including assessment, diagnosis and management of all thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal conditions (benign and malignant).
