Dr Charlie Viiala is a Perth born and trained gastroenterologist, having received his specialist qualification in 2002.
He has a broad range of interests including irritable bowel syndrome, colorectal cancer screening, capsule enteroscopy and colonoscopy quality assurance.
Dr Viiala is a lecturer with the School of Medicine at Notre Dame University.
His research fields over the years have included Helicobacter pylori, cancer screening and colonoscopy quality.
At the present time, he works mainly through his practice at GI Health at St John of God Subiaco Hospital.
He also performs endoscopy and colonoscopy for public patients at Osborne Park Hospital.
