Associate Professor Alex Voskoboinik is a cardiologist and electrophysiologist with clinical interests in rhythm disturbances.


Associate Professor Voskoboinik implants pacemakers and defibrillators, and performs minimally-invasive catheter ablation for arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia and ventricular tachycardia.


Associate Professor Voskoboinik is committed to research, and completed his PhD at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Research Institute and University of Melbourne in 2019, during which he was awarded the prestigious Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand Ralph Reader Prize for top young investigator. He is currently the recipient of a National Heart Foundation Early Career Fellowship and NHMRC Investigator Grant and has over 100 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals (inc. NEJM, JACC, JAMA).


Associate Professor Voskoboinik graduated from Monash University Medical School with First Class Honors and completed his cardiology advanced training at The Alfred in 2015, followed by a Clinical Electrophysiology Fellowship at The Alfred and Royal Melbourne Hospital. He undertook further advanced ablation and pacing training at University of California San Francisco (UCSF) in 2019 to 2020.



Associate Professor Voskoboinik has public appointments at The Alfred and Western Health and consults privately in Malvern and Pakenham. He performs private procedures at St John of God Berwick Hospital, Cabrini and Epworth.
