Mr Isaac Thyer is a urological surgeon with a special interest in robotic and laparoscopic surgery for prostate and kidney cancer. He treats patients at St John of God Geraldton Hospital.


Mr Thyer obtained his undergraduate qualifications in mechanical engineering and commerce from The University of Western Australia and then in medicine from the University of Sydney. He then undertook advanced urological training in Western Australia and Victoria. In 2013 he was awarded the Keith Kirkland Travelling Fellowship in Urology. He was awarded his fellowship to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2015. In that year he underwent further observational training in the treatment of testicular cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York.


He performs surgery for many urological conditions including:



• Prostate cancer


• Kidney cancer


• Testicular cancer


• Kidney stones


• Benign prostate enlargement


• Penile and scrotal conditions


• SpaceOAR and fiducial marker insertion in preparation for radiotherapy



• Isaac is involved in regular teaching activities for trainees in urology and other surgical specialties.
