He spent the first four years of his training at the Royal Hobart Hospital where he completed his internship, basic surgery and first year of unaccredited orthopaedic registrar trainings.

He then worked across two health networks and four hospitals in Melbourne over the following two years before being selected for the Advanced Surgical Training program in Perth in 2008.

After completion of his training, he completed a trauma fellowship at Harbourview Medical Centre in Seattle.

Arash then went on to undertake an internationally recognised robotic arm-assisted joint replacement fellowship at University of Southern California, becoming the first Australian fellow to be fully trained in Stryker/Mako robotics.

Arash is now one of the highest volume hip and knee robotic arm-assisted joint replacement surgeons in Australia.

He has been involved in many international and national visitations – attending, hosting and training other surgeons in this exciting new technology.

He has a sub-specialised interest, and expertise in, Enhanced Recovery Protocols and overnight stay robotic arm-assisted partial knee replacement.

He has given national and international presentations on robotic joint replacement and enhanced recovery, including most recently performing a masterclass for the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetist’s Annual Scientific Meeting in Malaysia (2019).

Arash also performs sports reconstructive surgery of the knee and hip and all trauma cases. Arash is delighted to be expanding his practice to the patients of St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital.
