Dr Shankar completed her basic medical training at UNSW. She completed her psychiatric training in Melbourne and has been involved with both public and private psychiatric care.
She has broad clinical interests in general adult psychiatry and old age psychiatry with a special interest in pain management. She has previously worked at the Monash Health Pain Clinic as a consultant psychiatrist.
Dr Shankar is also trained in neurostimulation techniques including ECT and TMS, both of which are offered at St John of God Langmore Centre.
Dr Shankar consults and admits at St John of God Langmore Centre in Berwick. She also works in the Pain Clinic at The Kingston Centre, Monash Health.
Dr Shankar is happy to work with General Practitioners, Pain Specialists and other Allied Health specialists as part of multidisciplinary pain management.
