Dr John Sycamnias is a geriatrician, oncologist and general physician who treats patients at St John of God Ballarat Hospital.
Dr Sycamnias obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy at the Victorian College of Pharmacy prior to studying medicine at the University of Melbourne and completing his residency in Ballarat.
He returned to Melbourne to gain his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners before commencing work as a GP in Ballarat where he was inspired to further his interests in geriatrics and oncology.
After completing physician training in Geelong, specialising in geriatrics, he furthered his specialisation in medical oncology in Brisbane, which he completed at the Redcliffe Hospital.
Dr Sycamnias is now based in Ballarat, where he consults at the St John of God Ballarat Hospital and is accredited with the St John of God Geelong Hospital.
