Dr Ashok Shah is a cardiologist who treats patients at St John of God Murdoch Hospital.



Dr Shah gained his medical degree in 1998 from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, India. He holds a doctoral degree in cardiology from the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, Mumbai (Bombay) University, India. Dr Shah completed fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology from the Michigan State University and is registered with the Board of Medicine, Michigan, USA. He is also a Certified Cardiac Device Specialist of the Heart Rhythm Society, USA.



In 2009, Dr Shah joined the team of Professor Michel Haissaguerre in Bordeaux, France for advanced clinical electrophysiology training and research involving the genesis and management of complex arrhythmias. In 2011, he started working as a staff clinical electrophysiologist and researcher at Centre Hopitalier Universitaire (CHU) and L’Institut Rythmologie et Modeling Cardiaque (LIRYC) in Bordeaux. He moved to Australia in 2015 to take up a position as a Consultant Cardiologist.



Dr Shah has a special interest in mapping and ablation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, hereditary heart rhythm disorders, and primary electrical disorders of the heart.
