Dr Amit Shah is a cardiologist with expertise in managing ischaemic heart disease, valvular heart disease and arrhythmias, with a particular interest in heart failure, non-ischaemic cardiomyopathies, mechanical circulatory support and cardiac transplantation.
He offers outpatient consultation at St John of God Murdoch Hospital, as well as inpatient care and coronary angiography, right heart catheterisation and myocardial biopsies at the hospital. He also works at public hospitals including Rockingham, Armadale and Fiona Stanley Hospital.
After completing undergraduate medical training in the UK, Dr Shah completed cardiology training in Australia, prior to a two-year fellowship in advanced heart failure; medical circulatory support and cardiac transplant.
He holds an appointment as cardiologist for the Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant Services at Fiona Stanley Hospital and is actively involved in research in this field.
