Dr Chris Orlikowski is originally from South Africa but has lived in Australia for more than 20 years. His medical degree is from South Africa, his anaesthetic fellowship from the UK and his pain fellowship is Australian. He has worked in Hobart for more than 20 years and now works solely as a specialist pain medicine physician.


He is a fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.


In the past, he was Director of the Acute Pain Service at the Royal Hobart Hospital for five years and continues his interest in acute pain. His approach to pain is holistic and often works with physiotherapists and psychologists. In addition, he offers a wide range of pain procedures including spinal cord stimulators.


He has also an interest in education in the developing world and has done trips to Africa and Laos to teach pain courses. He is the Oceania representative on the Pain Committee of the World Federation of Anaesthetists (WFSA).
