Dr Mitra is a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He also holds a masters degree in sports and exercise medicine.


He completed advanced clinical fellowship training in primary and revision arthroplasty (joint replacement) as well as adult trauma including pelvis and acetabulum (hip) in Ireland, Germany and Australia. His special interest lies in the field of hip, knee, shoulder and upper limb surgery and treatment of complex fractures of both upper and lower limbs and the pelvis. He has extensive experience in managing arthritis of hip, knee and shoulder including joint replacements and revision procedures, complex fractures and deformity corrections.


Dr Mitra's primary aim is to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients. His treatment is tailored to meet the individual needs of each of his patients. He follows evidence based techniques and practice to achieve this.
