Carolyn Masarei is a graduate of the University of Western Australia obtaining an MBBS in 1991. She obtained a Postgraduate Diploma of Medicine in palliative care at Edith Cowan University, Western Australia in 2000.



In 2001 she gained Membership of Royal College of Physicians United Kingdom. In 2006 she was granted Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (Adult Medicine Division) from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.



Carolyn has worked at St John of God Bunbury Hospital since February 2012 and provides all aspects of palliative care to people living in the South West Region of WA. This includes an outpatient clinic in Bunbury, teleconferencing to other sites in the region (including peoples homes), and consults for inpatients of the South West Health Campus.



Her interests include pain and symptom management and advance care planning. She is also a Senior Lecturer in the Rural Clinical School of Western Australia.
