Professor Gabriel Lee is a neurosurgeon with a special interest in brain tumours, neonatal surgery, and spinal imaging.


After receiving his MBBS, he then undertook two years of further sub-specialty fellowships. These included a Complex Spine Fellowship at Toronto Western Hospital, Canada, and an Epilepsy/Brain tumour Fellowship at Yale University in the US.


He returned to Western Australia in 2006, and now performs general neurosurgical procedures at St John of God Subiaco Hospital with sub-specialty interests in brain tumours (including lesions in the eloquent cortex), pituitary tumours, epilepsy surgery, spinal tumours and complex spinal conditions.


Professor Lee has a long track record of teaching and research, with a significant publication record. He recently stepped down from the Board of Neurosurgical Society of Australasia, after serving for five years. He holds a public appointment at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
