Dr Oliver Klein has undertaken his training in medical oncology and clinical haematology in Germany before coming to Australia in 2005 to join the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research at the Austin Hospital.


He has worked for several years as a postdoctoral and clinical research fellow being actively involved in melanoma and cancer immunotherapy research.


Dr Klein has experience in the treatment of patients in all major tumour streams with a particular interest in melanoma, haematological and gynaecological malignancies. He is holding an appointment with the Austin Hospital and Olivia Newton John cancer Centre in Melbourne where he is heading the recently established immune-oncology service.


His research is focused on exploring the most up to date and novel way to treat cancer by harnessing the immune system's ability to fight cancer.
