Mr. Nathan Kirzner is a Melbourne-trained orthopaedic surgeon with expertise in hip and knee replacement surgery, including complex primary and revision procedures. He also specialises in sports knee surgery, shoulder arthroplasty and the management of complex trauma.
Originally from country Victoria, Nathan developed a passion for sports, science, and problem-solving at a young age. This natural curiosity and drive to restore function led him to pursue a career in orthopaedic surgery, where he could combine his skills with his passion for improving movement, independence, and quality of life.
Mr. Kirzner completed his orthopaedic surgical training in Victoria, working across leading hospitals renowned for both trauma and elective surgery. He then undertook sub-specialist fellowship training in complex hip and knee conditions, with particular focus on revision arthroplasty.
His advanced training also includes:
- Robotic-assisted orthopaedic surgery
- Anterior and posterior approach hip replacements
- Management of complex musculoskeletal trauma
In addition to his clinical practice, Nathan believes strongly in teaching the next generation of doctors and orthopaedic surgeons. He is actively involved in education and supervision through his public hospital appointments and is recognised as a friendly, supportive mentor and natural leader.
