Assoc Professor Chrys Hensman was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1994. He has been a senior lecturer at Monash University since 2014, and a partner at LapSurgery Australia (Unique Private Surgical Unit) in Melbourne, Victoria, since 1998. He was the co-founder of the Valley Hospital Surgical Obesity Clinic.
Assoc Professor Chrys Hensman’s major surgical interests are robotic surgery - DaVinci robotic laparoscopic gastric bypass, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, the use of high resolution impedance manometry and impedance pH measurement in the assessment of oesophageal disorders.
Assoc Professor Chrys Hensman undertook short fellowship in HRIM at the Memorial Hospital in Chicago under the tutelage of John Pandalfino and Peter Karihlas pioneers in HRIM and inventors of the Chicago classification in December 2012.
His expertise includes:
