Dr Rekha Ganeshalingam is a Victorian trained, consultant orthopaedic surgeon who manages a broad range of orthopaedic conditions in both children and adults.


Dr Ganeshalingam graduated with Honours from the University of Auckland Medical School in New Zealand in 2008 before making the move to Australia.


During her Orthopaedic training, she undertook a year-long observership at the Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, Canada.


After being awarded her fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, she proceeded to complete a fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedics at University Hospital Geelong, a Limb Reconstruction Fellowship at the Royal Children’s Hospital and further training at Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand.


Dr Ganeshalingam is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association and holds a public appointment at the University Hospital in Geelong where her practice covers a diverse range of orthopaedics. She maintains connections to the Royal Children’s Hospital where she is an Honorary Surgeon, has an active research role and continues to be involved in teaching of medical students, junior doctors and orthopaedic trainees.


Raising her own young family has given Dr Ganeshalingam valuable insight into the care of her patients and continues to drive her holistic approach to medicine.
