Dr Charles Gallagher is a Melbourne-born orthopaedic surgeon specialising in surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist. He completed international fellowship training, including a year at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (UK), focusing on upper limb arthroscopy, joint replacement surgery and trauma management. He further refined his skills with a year at the Roth | McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre (Canada), where he gained additional subspecialty training in hand and upper limb surgery.
Dr Gallagher manages the full spectrum of upper limb conditions, treating both acute injuries and elective reconstructive problems. His focus is on restoring function and enabling patients to return to work, sport and everyday activities.
He holds public appointments at Dandenong and Box Hill Hospitals and is actively involved in surgical education and research, mentoring trainees and contributing to ongoing
development in upper limb surgery.
