Dr Marcus Chin is an interventional gastroenterologist who graduated from The University of Western Australia, in 1999. He completed his Gastroenterology training in Western Australia, followed by further interventional endoscopic training in Canada and Japan.


He is currently practicing at St John of God Subiaco Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital.


Dr Chin has clinical interests in:



The endoscopic removal of early oesophageal , gastric and colonic neoplasms. Dr Chin has been a pioneer in the technique of endoscopic submucosal dissection - having learnt this technique in Japan and has been one of the first endoscopists in Australia to perform this routinely for his patients. He has removed more than 250 cancers in this manner


Endoscopic Ultrasound : staging of oesophageal, gastric cancers, pancreatic and biliary tumours and acquiring tissue diagnosis of cancers.


Oesophageal, Enteral and Colonic Stenting in the palliative management of people with cancer.
