Dr Allen Chong grew up in Perth and Canberra, studying Medicine at the University of New South Wales. He completed his internship and junior medical resident training in Sydney before moving back to Western Australia for orthopaedic training, which he completed in 2000. Dr Chong then completed 18 months of Post-Fellowship training in sports surgery, upper limb and knee surgery before commencing private practice in Bunbury in July 2001.

Dr Chong performs arthroscopic and open surgery for shoulder and knee problems, as well as total hip arthroplasty. Over the years he has developed a particular interest in shoulder surgery, regularly attending international shoulder workshops, meetings and live surgery. In 2005 Dr Chong was one of the first surgeons to perform reverse total shoulder arthroplasty in Western Australia. Dr Chong provides a ‘no gap’ service with all health funds for surgery.
