Mo is a highly trained Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric surgeon, having completed his training under some of the world’s leaders in both General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery.

Mo embarked on his journey to become a surgeon at the prestigious Hacettepe School of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey. Having completed his medical degree in 1997, Mo was offered the opportunity to train as a general surgeon in Liverpool – UK, in the highly competitive and world-renowned general surgery program. Mo successfully completed his general surgery training and was admitted to the United Kingdom’s governing body as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons – Edinburgh in 2009.

Following his qualification in General Surgery, Mo further enhanced his skills by relocating to Perth, Western Australia to complete additional surgical training in the field of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery with Professor David Fletcher, and his team including Mr Krishna Epari and Mr Alan Thomas. This was completed in 2012. Subsequently, Mo was offered the opportunity to join Fremantle Hospital Upper GI Unit as a consultant surgeon and continues to hold this position today at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Murdoch, Western Australia.

Mo combines his love for learning by maintaining his public appointment with his private practice at Upper GI West.
