Dr Brooks grew up in the United Kingdom and moved to Australia after completing medical school. He worked in Darwin, Brisbane and Adelaide before finally settling in Perth to complete his 5-year Advanced Plastic Surgery training. Soon after completion, he accepted a sponsored cosmetic fellowship in the United States, before embarking on a reconstructive fellowship in Oxford, England.



Since returning to Perth, he has worked extensively in the fields of hand and upper limb surgery, skin cancer and melanoma surgery (he is a member of WAKMAS and the State Melanoma Advisory Service), sarcoma surgery, mastering advanced reconstruction techniques, microsurgery and cosmetic surgery with a particular interest in body contouring and fat transfer.



Dr Brooks has undertaken extensive post-fellowship education in Italy, France and Switzerland, learning techniques from world-renowned European plastic surgeons, bringing those techniques back to Perth.



Dr Brooks has presented research at both national and international conferences. His work was recognised at the Australian and New Zealand Society of Plastic Surgeons meeting in Auckland in 2018 where the focus was around his work on improving body lift outcomes, and most recently at the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons 2021 where he was asked to present his body contouring technique. Dr Brooks is actively involved in medical student, junior doctor and GP education.

• Dr Brooks is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and is a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He also is a panel member of the statewide melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer MDT clinics.
