Mr Acosta-Rojas specialises in hand surgery, providing the latest non-surgical or minimally invasive alternatives where possible for conditions such as carpal tunnel, finger contractures, trigger finger and osteoarthritis.


Mr Acosta-Rojas is qualified in Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery and is a trained Orthopaedic Surgeon. He holds a Fellowship from Louisville USA and a Plastic Surgery Fellowship from Baltimore USA and Glasgow UK. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons and a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and Swedish Society of Plastic Surgery.


Mr Acosta-Rojas specialises in hand surgery following hand trauma and other hand injuries. He excels in providing the latest non-surgical or minimally invasive alternatives where possible for conditions such as carpal tunnel, finger contractures, trigger finger and osteoarthritis. A well respected Microsurgeon, Mr Acosta-Rojas has a special interest in reconstructive microsurgery of the breast, including post – cancer DIEP flap breast reconstruction. Mr Acosta-Rojas works with Cardiovascular Surgeons to treat complicated reconstructions of the heart wall and Colorectal Surgeons for reconstruction of the perineal region.


Fluent in English, Spanish and Swedish, Mr Acosta-Rojas delivers informative presentations to audiences all over the world. He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Deakin University and according to PubMed has over 50 citations/publications. He has co-authored several books, one translated into Chinese.
