Dr Alexander graduated from Monash University in 1998. Dr Alexander has extensive experience in performing gastroscopy, colonoscopy and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).


Dr Alexander’s clinical work and research interests include colorectal cancer prevention, Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease (GORD), Barrett’s oesophagus, inflammatory bowel disease and the diagnosis and management of pancreaticobiliary diseases.


Dr Alexander has undertaken advanced training in the management of complex pre-malignant and early mucosal malignancies throughout the gastrointestinal tract as well as palliative stenting of advanced gastrointestinal cancers. He is particularly interested in quality outcome measures in endoscopy (adenoma detection, completion and complication rates).


He is active in clinical research, is co-investigator of multi-centre national studies and has published in leading national and international journals.
