Oscar is a specialist general surgeon with interests in minimally invasive surgery, complex abdominal wall (hernia surgery) and benign biliary / gallbladder disease. He studied for his primary medical degree in Hobart, Tasmania and in 2006 relocated to Perth to complete internship at Fremantle Hospital.


After spending several years working as a medical officer in the Australian Army he returned to Perth to complete training in general surgery, completing most of his training at Fremantle and Fiona Stanley Hospitals.


After undertaking a Fellowship year in liver, pancreas and trauma surgery at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne in 2019 Oscar returned once again to Perth to take up the role of leading Fiona Stanley's nation-leading Acute Surgery Unit, where he is fortunate to work with some of Perth's leading surgeons, many of whom share appointments at St John of God Murdoch Hospital.
